Quick Country Facts

Ethiopia

Population: 73 million
Life Expectancy: 48.83 GDP Per Capita: $800USD
On the eastern horn of Africa Ethiopia borders the Sudan, Kenya, and Somalia. It relies heavily on coffee exports for the country's foreign exchange earnings. Food insecurity is also a huge concern for Ethiopia. Famines and political arguments over Eritrea deter tourists to the area, while a major boost in tourism would support their unstable and lacking economy. The question of this democracy falling into a dictatorship is evident. Ethiopia has an abundance of natural resources mismanaged by government. It's 1 million sq km, twice the size of Texas or 5 times the size of  Britain. The religious breakdown is 45% Orthodox Christian and 35% Muslim.
Elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and a plethora of birds make up some of Ethiopia's animal population.
